Issues

I know that everyone has issues, and that life is not a contest to see whose life is the most fucked up. (Although a lot of folks look at it that way.)

What better place than my journal to dissect some of these issues?

I will likely make occasional posts from now until the end of my time at livejournal that focus on what these issues are, and possible ways to improve them.

I welcome and appreciate advice and support in dealing with these issues.

My intent by posting about my personal demons is to further my own personal growth, and to help others understand me a little better. My intent is NOT to make people feel sorry for me; I’m not looking for sympathy. I am well aware that my "issues" are not unique, and that there are many people in this world who are much worse off than I am.

In my LJ, I mostly write about what's going on in my life and my thoughts and feelings about it. I write about my boyfriend, my relationships, my family, my friends, my pets, my sex life, my band, my beliefs, my values, my struggles with addiction, and my lifelong journey of personal growth. I try to be funny and interesting, but sometimes I'm probably boring.

I enjoy advice, as well as feedback. If you have a criticism, please share it kindly and constructively.

I post pictures occasionally. The pictures I post are of myself, my boyfriend, my friends and family, my pets, my garden, and other random things from my life.

I don't post many memes or surveys, unless I'm incredibly bored. Incidentally, I don’t generally respond to them or comply with being “tagged”.

I don't respond to "comment or be cut" type posts. If you only want to add me for my comment potential, don't add me.

If I find your journal to be interesting, or if I become close to you (as close as internet interactions will allow), I will read and comment as often as I can. If I don't, I won't.

I don't censor myself. I sometimes write about things that are sexually explicit or highly personal. Sometimes I filter these posts, sometimes I don't.

I like to know who’s reading me. Please don’t be a lurker. I am friendly and love meeting new people, so if you read my journal, please add me as a friend and comment to introduce yourself. I don’t bite. Unless you’re into that sort of thing. ;)

What you see is what you get. I am who I am without apologies.

All that said, I'd rather you didn't add me if:

You are generally a very hateful or negative person. I choose to surround myself with positivity and love.

You are at all closed-minded or intolerant. (Racist, Sexist, Homophobic, etc.) You are entitled to your bigotry, just keep it away from me. In return, I will keep my liberal, hippie, vegan values away from you.
