So...I updated my bio, and included many of your contributions. (Some of the similar ones were combined, so please don't take offense if your exact words weren't used!)

But now....I think it looks like crap. Its just too long and full of just boring looking text.

Who has ideas? I need ideas people! Can I jazz it up somehow? Trim it down? What to remove?

Why am I so worked up over my LJ Bio?

I feel like I want a new bio in my user info, but I always feel moronic writing bios.

I'm putting a challenge out here to my LJ friends.

I want you to write a sentence (or a few sentences) that, if you were me, you'd include in my bio. Write them in first person, as though you are me.

Example: I am too lame to come up with my own bio so I'm shoving it off on my LJ friends.
(There, now that one's taken, no one else can use it :P )

I may or may not use what gets posted here, but it should be interesting nonetheless.

Anonymous comments are enabled, so feel free to post anonymously if you're more comfortable that way. If I have IP logging turned on, I don't know how to turn it off, but I promise I'm too computer retarded to bother trying to figure out who you are by your IP address.

New Icon-Help!

So, some of you may have noticed, I'm technologically impaired. Once I figure something out, I'm an expert at it, I just have a hard time figuring certain stuff out in the first place.

I've noticed that several people on my friends list appear to enjoy making icons when bored. I need a wine icon. Who's got my back? Somebody, get bored, quick! It could be a bottle of wine, a glass of wine, a puddle of wine on the floor, anything. If you come up with something, post it in a comment (if that works??) or e-mail it to me joellacritter (AT) gmail.com I'll give you props (and undying love and devotion) I promise!

P.S. Just watched Shrek w/ the little man. (Shrek 2 is slated for tomorrow night.) Great movie!

LJ Observations

First of all, I have question for you smart peoples who know how to customize LJ "stuff". Is there a way that in addition to Music and Mood, I could have a spot for my current Wine Selection? Just wondering, because that would rock.

Now on to the real reason I'm posting. I've been around here for a couple of weeks now, and I've noticed some things. I really enjoy LJ, because I find it so interesting to be exposed to such a diverse group of people. I also enjoy seeing the many different ways people use their journals.

There seems to be 3 main focuses, at least as far as written entries. There is a focus on what people DO, a focus on what people THINK, and a focus on how people FEEL. I like to think I strike a nice balance between all 3 (you may think otherwise, if you do, please share!). I'm not saying that I think one focus is better, or more important, or more intriguing than another, this is just an observation.

Something else that I've observed disturbed me a little, and that is how insensitive some people are in response to other people's journal entries. Maybe its because I have such a focus on kindness in my life that this sticks out, who knows, but it bugs me.

Just a bit ago, I was reading an entry on my friends page by a guy who I find to be very positive, caring individual. In this entry, he poured out his heart about a very personal and painful event. Someone not only made a snide remark about the length of his post, but went on to insult him for asking for his reader's thoughts. I just can't understand the gall of someone to pass such judgement on how someone uses their personal journal.

I like to think that I'm safe here to post as I think, without worrying about being laughed at for the way I choose to use my journal. Disagreeing with what a person says or thinks is one thing, but insulting their use of a personal writing medium is quite another.
